Requirements/Qualifications for all applicants

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Capable of being on your feet and active for an 8-hour shift
  • Have a flexible schedule (ability to work evenings and weekends)
  • Good spelling and written communication skills
  • Great verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable talking to strangers and large groups of adults and children
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to complete tasks with little supervision

  • Have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Basic computer skills

The job is about giving the customer a great painting experience.

We are looking for someone who is a fast learner, a creative problem solver, and is above all a people person. You must love babies, children and adults!
Responsibilities and Duties

You will be expected to instruct painters, glaze pottery, load and unload kilns, make and serve refreshments, as well as clean up and maintain the studio. You will also speak with customers on the telephone answering queries and taking bookings, take money and card payments and use the artwork tracking system. A large part of the job is ensuring the studio is clean and well maintained.

Other duties include, but will not be limited to, running parties and other events, unpacking stock shipments and opening and closing the studio, painting commissions and clay and plaster pieces.

Qualifications and Skills
You must:

Enjoy working with children and adults
Have good time management skills.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to work flexible schedules including all school holidays
Be able to demonstrate initiative
Be able to follow written and oral instructions and complete tasks as assigned
Have basic maths skills and tidy handwriting.
Present a family friendly appearance and attitude at all times.

 

Desirable but not essential
Have experience working in a paint your own pottery studio.
Have ceramics experience, working with clay, hand building and wheel.
